Definitions

Harassment:  We define harassment as unwelcome or hostile behavior, including speech that intimidates, creates discomfort, or interferes with a person's participation or opportunity for participation; verbal threats or demands; degrading language; intimidation; harassing photography, screen shots, or audio or video recording; inappropriate physical contact; sexual imagery; unwelcome sexual attention; stalking; unsolicited physical contact; and sustained disruption of the coordination process, including case handling workflows, presentations, and other events.

VINCE platform: the software service that the CERT/CC provides to enable its coordinated vulnerability disclosure practice.

VINCE user: any user of the VINCE platform, including CERT/CC analysts, researchers, vendors, and other participants.

CERT/CC analyst: individuals authorized to represent the CERT/CC within the VINCE platform.

Harassment is never appropriate for any conference venue, including during presentations, workshops, social events, or on social media.

We define harassment as unwelcome or hostile behavior, including speech that intimidates, creates discomfort, or interferes with a person's participation or opportunity for participation; verbal threats or demands; degrading language; intimidation; harassing photography or recording; inappropriate physical contact; sexual imagery; unwelcome sexual attention; stalking; unsolicited physical contact; and sustained disruption of presentations and other events.We expect conference participants expect VINCE users to follow this code of conduct at conference and workshop venues and conference-related social events.

We expect offenders who are asked to stop their harassing behavior to comply immediately.

We do not tolerate any form of harassment or offensive behavior at our conferencesin the context of our coordinated vulnerability disclosure practice, which includes the VINCE platform.

If a participant VINCE user engages in harassing behavior, the offender may be expelled from be suspended from further participation in the conference (with no refund) by an SEI conference representative.If you are being harassed, witness someone else being harassed, or have other concerns, please alert the conference chair, a member of the conference staff at the FloCon Registration Desk, or a member of the hotel security staffthe VINCE platform.

Enforcement

Responsibilities

Community leaders are The CERT/CC is responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Community leaders CERT/CC analysts have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces, and also applies when an individual is officially representing the community in public spaces. Examples of representing our community include using an official e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

Enforcement

 

Reporting abuse

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at [INSERT CONTACT METHOD]. All CERT/CC using the private message to CERT/CC mechanism within VINCE. (see also Communicating#PrivateMessage) All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

All community leaders are CERT/CC analysts are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.

Enforcement Guidelines

Consequences

The CERT/CC will Community leaders will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

Consequence: A private, written warning from community leadersthe CERT/CC, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.  Additionally, we may:

  • revise or remove an offending post or comment
  • request that a VINCE user revise an offending post or comment
  • request a public apology 

2. Warning

Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the Code of Conduct, for a specified period of time. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as within the VINCE platform as well as external channels like social media. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.
